Patentstreit: Apple bekommt von Samsung noch mal 290 zusätzliche Millionen Dollar

Der Patentstreit des Jahrhunderts (na, wer weiß was da noch auf uns zukommt) ist in seine nächste Phase gegangen. Nach zwei Tagen Beratung haben die Geschworenen Apple noch mal 290 Millionen Dollar zugestanden. Zusammen mit den 599 vom März und den 40,5 Millionen im April beläuft sich das mittlerweile auf 929 Millionen Dollar. Und nun? Appeal! Klar. Die Show ist noch nicht vorbei. Samsung bedrückt, Apple etwas positiver: “For Apple, this case has always been about more than patents and money. It has been about innovation and the hard work that goes into inventing products that people love. While it’s impossible to put a price tag on those values, we are grateful to the jury for showing Samsung that copying has a cost.”

Aber damit nicht genug. In Deutschland hat Samsung auch einen weiteren Patentstreit nicht zu ihren Gunsten entscheiden können in dem es um ein 3G Patent ging, das der Richter für möglicherweise nichtig erklärt hat.
